The only downside to this is it limits your options to only girls who speak English. If I didn't used portuguese with the girl I'm seeing now, I wouldn't be seeing a 9 right now an probably have to settle for a 6 or 7 that speaks english.

Always start with money, guys. If you got the bucks you don't need any of those silly tricks, chicks will seek you out and they will be the ones worrying whether to start in English, Spanish, or German for your convenience.

The one size fits all to approaching in south america or anywhere is almost always weak advice. Who cares what the random local donks in the bathroom insist you should always do when plenty of foreigners have firsthand experience dictating the opposite. I am certain there are cities where approaching in spanish is much more conducive to getting the girl to open up right away. Starting in spanish shouldn't be written off as inferior just because you personally have a big sample of getting shutdown from lame spanish approaches.

Ferdinand - Sorry about that, didn't know you had a roissy-type blog, but as you do, being anon makes more sense.

Roosh - maybe the amazon hater was expecting a male version of "eat, pray, love". I've not read either of your books, no point as I'm not anything like the intended audience. Do think it's really cool that you're able to live in Brazil based on funds from self-published books. Thanks to the web we can all be entrepreneurs.

So going off of what Kate said, there is one common reason that people don't like my books:

It's not what they expected.

There was one reviewer that was upset that Bang didn't have "characters that jumped at you." He was expecting a narrative. Another guy was upset that it didn't help him deal with long-term relationships. This happens when people buy the book without reading the descriptions or sample pages. Nowhere in the homepage do I say that Bang has exciting characters or is for guys considering marriage.

Also one more reason that a few guys didn't like Bang:

They've been keyboard jockeys for many years.

They have gigabytes of seduction material from a dozen gurus sitting on their hard drive. They read my book and don't find the magic bullet that will get them out the door. If you've read more than 3 or 4 pickup books, your mileage out of Bang will obviously be shorter.

I think if people read the materials I put about the book and sample pages, they'll minimize the "risk" of the purchase. READ THE SAMPLE PAGES. If you like those then you'll like the book because those aren't the best parts of the book.

There's a money back guarantee in case people make the wrong purchase, so in the end I don't see the big deal.

I can vouch for this to work everywhere but France. The French hate the English language with a passion. Instead, the way to get a girl's positive attention in France is to go up to her and say "Salut Salope. Ça va la chatte?" Before you know it, she'll be all over the junk in your trunk :D

Yeah an older woman bought my book thinking it was a book about romantic travel stories or whatever and hated it. She wanted to know more about the history or background of the countries instead of my existential/personal crisis. Sigh.

Kate:

I certainly understand why people like roissy choose to have an anon. blog. As there could well be real world consequences from haters.

I DO have a blog, honey. And I write anonymously for the same reason as Roissy.

Over at Amazon the only person who is verified to have bought the book and who uses their real name hated it. Pretty sad that people like "Ferdinand" don't have the balls to put their real name on the review.

Why not? I certainly understand why people like roissy choose to have an anon. blog. As there could well be real world consequences from haters. But an amazon review is quite different. What a bunch of cry babies.

I should have done that in Bogota. One night, I went up to this girl and said Buenas, and she responded, and then I fumbled everything. I couldn't get simple Spanish words out of my mouth. It might have been the Aquardiente and nerves, but it was sad.

Then she said she spoke English. It seemed as if every girl I met there spoke English. Different crowd I guess.
