Seriously, I’ve spent a lot of time in Denmark and had a 2 year relationship with a Danish girl. While there’s some truth in what you say, I think if a Danish guy or girl came to the US and put us under a microscope, there’d be a shitload of stuff that didn’t make sense to them.

Our culture rewards “extreme” everything — extreme opinions, extreme pick-up behavior, extreme braggadocio, extreme chest-thumping. Males get “brownie points” from females for demonstrating it. Our extreme capitalist culture promotes this by commoditizing everything — female beauty, wealth, material possessions, career success, masculine swagger and alpha behavior, humor, talents, knowledge, experience, sexiness, arrogance, cockiness. We’re culturally programmed to see all of these as positives, even indispensible, and to be proud of them.

A different way of interpreting Roosh’s observations may be to realize that Denmark is a country which hews to a completely different outlook. Any country where the people don’t give a rat’s ass what kind of car you drive, and where everyone from lawyers to musicians to janitors rides to work on a beat-up bicycle, because their egos don’t need anything better, is bound to be radically different from the US when it comes to dating.

I don’t think the problem is that Danish girls are “masculine”… the US has its own problem with masculine-acting girls because our competitive capitalist culture promotes “masculine” behavior and devalues “feminine” behavior — in BOTH males and females.

All I can say is Denmark is dramatically different in almost every way — for good or for bad. I don’t like everything about Denmark. The place can get quite boring and uniform, with a humorless PC attitude enforced everywhere.

On the other hand, Danes genuinely like to laugh, have a good time, and enjoy the company of PEOPLE. The government invests in people, and people appreciate other people as people, instead of viewing them as competitors in some cutthroat capitalist jungle.

The problem in Denmark is not that it’s some male-versus-female gender dystopia where a bunch of lesbian Amazons have subjugated the male population and turned them all into compliant wimps.

What’s different about Denmark is that its culture is diametrically opposed to the extreme free market vulture form of capitalism that most of us are used to. We see everything through our provincial lens, and to many of us, every aspect of Denmark — including the dating dynamic — is bound to look like something from another planet.

I still haven’t grasped why Roosh chose places like Denmark and Iceland to scope out; northern european women are not known for their “warm” personalities when compared with South America for example. Few things make me more remorseful than realising I woke up to this too late in life. I no longer like the thought of dealing with them at all; there are much better women out there.

I’m surprised they didn’t look better. My memory of Denmark was not of a country full of ugly women. The culture is degenerate, and I agree it does look like parents think the greatest gift they can give their daughters, is to teach them to walk like truck drivers and talk like Bill O’Reilly; but I still don’t think things are ay worse than in most US cities.

In the mid 80′s I visited the city of Leningrad, USSR (lately known as St. Petersburg, Russia). I couldn’t help noticing there was a policeman (milis) at almost every street corner. The same thing when I visited Miami, FL in 1990.
