If you're planning on stoppping by Venezuela, I recommend visiting Los Roques Archipelago and La Gran Sabana. Although they are very far away from each other, both are absolutely beautiful. However, I think a visit to La Gran Sabana would require lots of planning and a greater group since it is such a vast, isolated area. Maybe you would like to read about it. But please don't miss out on Los Roques, the ocean does not look as beautiful as it does there anywhere else. If you're planning on visiting bigger cities, I recommend Maracaibo, it's crazy, crowded, dangerous, but fun. Mérida is great, too. There are several towns there that are all worth-visiting.
