Mr Anonymous has a very valid point about not being a slave to the man and is correct in his point about alphaness.

To be the complete alpha male in the true raw, wild sense of the word it require balls to be able to stick it to the man and live with the consequences of doing so.

In defense of the author, he has definately proven his alpha status but is undoubtably limited by the fear of the impact such drastic actions would have on social and economic aspects in his environment. This fear is a rational reaction to the analysis of such an action by an educated individual who is aware of his environment and is self-aware of the potential risks.

The dude sums it up nicely in one of my favourite films, the big lebowski:

LEBOWSKI
What makes a man ?
Is it. . . is it, being prepared to do the right thing? Whatever the price? Isn't that what makes a man?

DUDE
Sure. That and a pair of testicles.

Apologies for the essay :)

I'm from DC but I don't surround myself with people who use that word a lot. And I hate rap! That word doesn’t normally offend me. I don’t give any particular word that much power. It’s the intent behind any word that offends. But for people who use it every other sentence; well that shows how articulate they really are.

To my forth grade teacher:

Quotation marks or not, what was the relevants of that quote? If he wanted to say that in order to get something, you must take it, why didn’t he just say that? That quote was unnecessary and in applicable, especially since roosh is Turkish. Maybe I went ape-ship too fast; I think I was just shocked to see the ol “N word” in a post. Oh, and FUCK YOU!

BEAVE,

Wow. "Quotation marks"... ever hear of them? Has nobody ever explained to you what they are used for?

And seriously, if you're going to take that comment (a comment from a recent and critically acclaimed Hollywood blockbuster, no less!) as an indication of how fucked up the world today is... at least have the common courtesy to direct your self-righteous indignation to the proper person. I'm sure Mr. Scorsese would be more than happy to let you borrow his "Jump to Conclusions Mat".

Learn to read before you start calling other people ignorant, champ.

This is not an alpha/beta thing. Totally annoying that people are trying to turn it into one.

You have posted on this topic before and I think this whole issue boils down to this: You can either work hard at a job you love or you can look at your job as a means to get money. Personally, I look at things as a bit of a compromise between the two and I think a lot of people look at it that way.

I like what I do and it is rare that I wish I wasn't at work or depressed because of my job. I am lucky because of that, but there are plenty of days where I would rather be skiing or fishing, but the reality is that I don't think I would be fulfilled being a ski instructor or a fishing guide-- I prefer what I do. I make a good deal of money and the income potential is such that I do not worry too much about having the things I am hoping for in life.

You seem to not be enjoying what you do and I think this may be in part because you have a highly technical job. You're an engineer and you perform a particular task-- unless you love science I can see how this could get depressing. I would consider branching out into something you have more interest in. You've obviously flirted with this idea before. Go back to school or write a travel book if you are looking for something more extreme, but you might be pleased with something as simple as getting a gig as a bartender again and looking into starting a small bar (you could probably do it with the right financing and connections and in your case you have mentioned you have a friend whose family owns restaurants).

If none of these things seem to cut it then I would consider something more drastic- join the peace corps for 2 years. It will stop your student loans, allow you to do something positive. Other than that-- I suggest saving up to travel for a year.

"That’s what the niggers don’t realize. If I got one thing against the black chappies, it’s this -no one gives it to you. You have to take it.”

Shawn-WHAT THE FUCK DUDE? I mean is this OK to say now? I was all ready to put a comment until I saw this shit. And what disturbs me the most is no one who commented after him said anything about the ignorant, racist, comment he made. Are these the feelings of everybody who comments on this site? This really saddens me, but it also opens my eyes up to the fact that this world is fucked up and it’s because of people like you Shawn.

I know your so-called “alpha male”, mr. anonymous. he works 100 hours a week to build a business. this will probably go on for like 4 more years. afterwards, it’s only a guessing game if he will be very wealthy. i don’t think you know anything about being an “alpha male”.

An alpha male is a man who has the BALLS to follow his dream, whether it's making boatloads of money or sailing around the world or fucking lots of hot girls. He may or may not succeed, but he lives his life and goes for it 100%.

A beta male bitches and whines about how he doesn't have money, pussy, a worthwhile career, or whatever. I agree with the other Anons that Roosh is BETA. He is full of sloth, envy, hate, and self-loathing. Beta to the max.

People always want the easy way. They never want to do it right. Just work till you have that big juicy chunk of cash. Then don't work. Just chill out and if that picture is an indication of what you consider fun then it doesn't look like you need very much income to succeed. Do the school do the make money. Don't do the buy the big house and car and all the crap. Live in an 8X8 room with a T.V. Yea that's right smaller than a prison cell. Save your dam money and rise above the condition of indentured servant. Earn your freedom.

How very insightful. I guess this comes from the fact that most people think that they do not have other options to pursue when all they need is some small action to help them truly see what they want to do. Then there is the inevitable internal questioning as to whether this can be achieved when someone should just go with their gut feeling and achieving it.

If you want out of your rut, you basically have a few choices. 1) You can mooch off your parents forever. 2) You can have a job that demands little in effort or hours, and be dirt fucking poor. 3) You can live in magical mystical fairy land where people pay you insane sums of money for basically nothing (ex. the NBA) 4) You find a job you genuinely enjoy. The hard part of this isn't finding the job, it's figuring out what you really like to do. Once you do that, the job's actively fun. There's nothing beta about generating value for society, if you're as much a go-getter in the cube farm as you are in the night club (although if you're a wage slave sissy to a boss you loathe, yeah, beta.)

People tend to look at European youth and think they have it great. No way. They're unemployed, unemployable, have no cash for cars/booze/cd's/travel/etc. All they have to look forward to is eventually getting a grueling union job with little chance of advancement and the gov't taking 60% to pay unemployment benefits to the next generation of useless bodies. Actually living in Europe sucks balls. I'll take my job here and vacation there; best of both worlds.

totally agreed. this post is example #2,000,010 why getting a Ph.D. is infinitely more worthwhile. it's both a means and an end to a life worth living and a job worth taking.

I relate to this, but seriously, what other options are out there? Raise goats? Become a traveling bum and periodically sell yourself for a bowl of soup and a cracker? Life isn't one big adventure. You just have to try to find a job that you find tolerable enough and take up some hobbies. You can still have your big, crazy adventures...just not everyday. Who wants that anyway? You'll get to appreciate them so much more when they are spread out.

I have a feeling that when I go to Japan I'm never going to come back.

"Most of us are on the capitalist path: to go to school, get educated, become a good worker peon, spend money on consumer products, and die. ..... But I just don’t think it’s for me."
I relate to this 100%.
