Or you can live free and uncommitted to anyone or anything, but you have to worry about having no money now or when you are old and you have to deal with the existential pain that comes from living a life without purpose, and you are forced to wonder, "is this it?". I don't agree that you should leave DC. I think you need a plan for your life. If you want to leave as part of a plan, fine. But don't leave without knowing where you are going and why.
