Crime in Rio is a very serious and dangerous reality. Look… there is a very nice hostel in botafogo. It’s called botafogo easy hostel. Google it, it’s easy to find and very affordable at a monthly price and even has breakfast included. I have stayed there for as long as fifteen days. Of course, you have to share rooms. But think of it as a way to socialize and meet people. The atmosfere is very cosy and you’ll often find hot female gests. Walking distance from the Praia mall and Casa da Matriz. What else can you ask for?

As for having a place to pull chicks… Good luck having a middle class Brazilian hottie following you into the favela…

Favelas aren’t just blacks. There’s the whole range of mixes in them. In the south of Brazil, where it is more white, there are favelas with white people.
