Last point is garbage.

The best way to live is to get the highest possible return for the minimum possible investment. That's Timothy Ferris right there.

The man who can show others exactly how to do THAT for any given situation is the man with the golden eggs.

The experience you gain from consistent failure followed by success comes with the realization that you could have gotten the SAME result for much less if you weren't such a fucking idiot - this is what teaches us (especially young people) to stop being such fucking idiots all the time - the knowledge you gain from said experience you can transpose to other efforts and achieve what you want faster than otherwise, for less than otherwise.

Be overly glad over a success that cost you immense time and effort - it's just another example of emotional investment - the hook, so to speak - you've put your heart into it - you HAVE to feel glad you finally got what you wanted, even if you had to work twice as hard as the next guy.

This doesn't change YOUR reality. Let YOURSELF be the one who determines what investment is justifiable. Realize also that you can almost always do it faster and cheaper.

The people who really don't stress about shit and don't have mid-life crises are the ones who get the most for nothing.

Every time when I almost start to loathe you, you post something like this. great post, and i agree with you on almost every thing.

Why almost? I dont personally agree that you have to have "a project" always going on. I think that's one of the modern day man's greatest perils: you always have to better your market value, do something interesting or exotic just to earn the right to be. I think one can achieve real happiness when you are satisfied yourself _just being_ (yourself). Many people have real difficulties with that nowadays.

And yeah, I think you, Roosh, really put your money where your mouth is: I think you try too hard to be that mystical "alpha male" (or at least you write your blog in a way that gives us readers that image. I reckon you're probably a little less black-and-white in real life)

You can really write provocative posts so I'll be coming back to read your stuff. Keep up the good work. And hey, how is it going with the brazilian you spotted at the pool? ;)

It seems like you’re equating character with consistency. The older I get, the less I believe that these two things are related. What happens when your new words and thoughts don’t match how you’ve lived life so far? If I contradict ideas I’ve previously thought, do I have less character?

There is no penalty for learning.

...in your past post title “rules of life” you stated that if you were in a situation that you hated (esp with a girl), it would be better to cut your losses now rather then keep going and hope for a good outcome/payoff because you’ve already invested so much.

but in this post, under the section “garbage in” you say that if you’re in a situation where you curse yourself every night, it makes you feel good since you know it will lead to a good outcome…

Curse yourself because it takes work and is challenging (like making a movie or learning calligraphy), not because it's sucking the lifeblood out of you. Women will very rarely be something that is worthy of nighttime cursing. Anyway I think this is what you're referring to:

"After you’ve hit the point of diminishing return, the energy you put in is much less than what you get out, whether it be from jobs, relationships, friendships, or hobbies. Don’t wait until things get stale; by then you’ve waited too long."

I still stand by that. Working towards a fruitful goal is not that the same as taking shit from a girl or being disrespected or trying to fix something that all signals point to as not working out.

Another thing interests me , as to why with your deep understanding of life and the system you would throw away your job and education to a life of scrimping and scraping as a writer in your dads basement in order to justify your own happiness and doom any family you may be fortunate to have to lesser quality of life than the one your mother obviously WORKED hard to give you.

I want to be a starving writer so I don't write sentences like that.

What does “Hollywood style love” mean?

Blissful love and happiness without work and effort.

I assume he meant the atypical romantic comedy where guy/girl fall for each other but the best friend, parents, girl or guy screw things up yet in the end the couple end up happy ever after and madly in love. Think of any movie with Jennifer Lopez or Kate Hudson.

I am not sure why there is so much hate about you wanting to be a writer. I mean, you were a chemist, correct? There's no reason you couldn't go get another job as a chemist tommorrow right? I don't see anything wrong with following your dreams for a while-- it seems like too many don't.
