Yea lifestyles of travel are hard to get away from I think. I was in the Army lived in Germany and find that I can probably never do a typical 9 to 5 working 5 days a week till I am dead. I think what a waste of a life. Now I work 12 hours a day 365 a year oversees. Lot's of opportunity for those willing to travel. If you can save the money you can do whatever. When people say money isn't everything. They feel it isn't when they have enough to live comfortable take there job and paycheck away and see the fear in there eyes and know the truth. I think Roosh should of saved a 100 or so but hey he still has time later. This trip may give him the motivation to save to be able to do it all the time. I know meeting my wife and seeing another culture gave me mine.

I have a huge glasses fetish in women, and have continuouslz lamented the fact that while European girls don`t shrink from wearing glasses if they have less-than-perfect vision, in the US glasses are almost unseen on 20- and 30-something women, unless they`re making a conscious effort to look hip, edgy, or emo. In other words, in the US, glasses are used by a small minority of girls to make a "statement", but are otherwise eschewed in favor of contact lenses and LASIK surgery, to assuage their fragile self-esteems.

That is to say, in the US, the decimating of young women`s self-esteem is so pervasive and total, that the vast majority of young women won`t wear glasses.

This tells me more about the self-esteem problems of young American women than it does about fashion.

In Europe (including the UK, where I was last week, which has the most INCREDIBLE looking 20- and 30-something women on the planet, IMHO), you see young women with glasses everywhere. In fact it makes you realize that eye problems are much more common than a cursory view of the US population would lead you to believe. Whereas in the UK and even moreso in Continental Europe, nearly everyone who needs to wear glasses, will be found wearing glasses.

I think glasses hugely enhance an attractive women`s features. They suggest intellect, seriousness as opposed to flightiness, and call attention to the eyes and indeed the entire face.

In the US, marketing and product penetration are so pervasive in almost all facets of life, that glasses have almost become a thing of the past for people under 50. How sad.

Why don't you get into some online businesses? You've been on the net for awhile now, you have a head start on most of the guys that are doing stuff like advertising arbitrage, monetizing blogs, e commerce with drop shippers, etc... why don't you start into some of this stuff, you can manage it from anywhere in the world and the income should be enough to live in most third world countries. The initial start up will take some time, but after that it becomes much easier, especially if you just plan on maintaining the current income rather than growing.

Remember the story of the American on vacation vs the Mexican fisherman.

Both wanted to end up with the same lifestyle of enjoying their families, relaxing on the beach, and fishing.

The Mexican lived that life as soon as he figured out that's what he wanted by keeping things simple and not being materialistic. The American decided to pile on the bills and the fancy lifestyle and only do what he really wanted 2 weeks a year if that and maybe if he lived long enough and didn't make ANY mistakes for a few years when arthritis sets in, his eyes and hearing are shot and his libido is low.

Dude, seriously you're making the best decision of your life. Don't get loaded down with expectations. Go down there and make as many friends as possible. Stay chill and you'll be fine.

I hope to hear all the adventures of your travels for months to come.

Wishing you loads of memories, the confidence to stick through trials, and the most fun you've ever had in your life.

PS: don't forget us office dwellers/blog readers/working stiffs. Looking forward to reading stories of your travels and seeing your pics. Let's be honest, you're doing something only the very few would have the gonads to do. You said that your goal is to travel for six months, but what are the odds you stay longer or are gone for good? you could find a town with everything you ever wanted in life, get a job to pay your living expenses, meet great people, and spend years there. Good luck to you.

Take it from someone who is a bit older (and hopefully wiser). Your decision to travel at this point in your life is a wise one, despite the opportunity cost. Yes, you had a well-paying job and could have been on your way to a very secure retirement. Yet what kind of a retirement would it be if you had significant regrets about not seeing the world while you were physically able?

Then again, it is important to balance the desires of the present with the needs of the future. When you come back to the States, consider a job/career that will allow you to travel for work. There are plenty of jobs out there that so-called "normal" people don't want because such jobs will take them away from their wives and children. Until you have one or the other (or perhaps both), you have the freedom to see the world on your future employer's dime. This may preclude you from meeting the future "Mrs. Roosh", but I doubt it. Rather, I believe that you'll find her wherever you are, because she will share your same passion for traveling.

Sometimes, the only way to know if something is "right" is to just do it. And even if you find it's "wrong," or not for you, at least you've learned something. Have fun!

When/if you make your way back into the professional world, the time off that you took will be looked at as a sabbatical, which is pretty normal if not very common. You should be able to pick up more or less where you left off, so you're not throwing anything away, except however many months of salary. And in the long run who really gives a crap about that.

I think it would be strange for you not to wonder. But it seems to me that we don't often get to choose the adventures we take in life: they come to us. Choosing this doesn't mean it will turn out a certain way. But then, there's comfort in knowing that happens with the things we don't plan, either, maybe?
