After all the work that goes into it (oh god, the editing and re-writes), I still vote giving the traditional route a try, esp with all the things you have going for you (successful blog, good numbers on Bang, newsletter subscribers, interesting genre, etc). That's a hellva query letter right there!

There are differing opinions about publishing houses being cool with self-published books (as in, buying them after the face), but I hear a lot of nays in that regard.

I know it may seem like it takes too long, but having an agent to navigate and get you MORE money as well as encourage & work with you as a writer for the long haul is invaluable.

Either way, very good luck to you, brah :)

i second what another commenter wrote above. why not do the indie and traditional publishing route simultaneously?

Check out this site. It's pretty detailed in regard to internet publishing.

You should self-publish your book on to Amazons Kindle.....there are people who would be willing to pay a lower price for an ebook edition. It's also more convenient than a paper book.

You're in the wrong initials...BC instead of DC..

This guy grows plants for a living (part time) and makes twice as much as me..(and you??)

"Every two to three months, John harvests some 8lbs (3.6kg) of his crop, worth about $20,000.

So even if he didn't work at other jobs, that nets him a tidy salary (untaxed of course) of about $80,000 a year."

I guess people dont spread the word about your book because they just want to keep the lessons for themselves so they can have an edge over everyone else. Otherwise, Bang! would have sold a lot better this far. By the way, what's your second book about?

Do it your way. That's the way you've been going with most things you do, and by the time the book goes through a long publishing process you might have lost momentum on the topic and not care about it anymore.
