Hate the new goals for catwalk models… they have to be so FAT that they have a BMI on 18 it just plain crazy…
A catwalk models BMI should stay around 15 as it allways been…
No one wanna look at those fat models on the catwalk especialy not the brand names its those models who makes the cloth stad out as something special ;-)

I have to agree with some of the previous posters. There’s not enough societal pressure on men to be attractive. If a chick looks smokin hot, girls give her dirty looks, thereby validating her thinness through their blatant jealousy.

If a dude is dead sexy, passing men don’t care and his buddies call him a gay pretty boy, ruining his masculine image. That means, it is okay for a man to be kind of tubby and their opinion is that women can just deal with it. Well, we’re kind of sick of tubby. At least I am.

Yea…because it’s TOTALLY impossible to be NATURALLY skinny, right?

I’m sorry that I have a fast metabolism and a naturally small bone structure. But you know..since I’m skinny I must be an anorexic drug addict that only eats once a month.

Blaming the gays doesn’t work either – I’m an artist and my wife is a musician so we hang with an artsy-fartsy crowd and have lots of gay male friends. And frankly, they don’t give a shit what chicks look like.

I say it’s the designers – they want to show off their clothes and if they could program a clothes rack to go down the catwalk they would. A skinny model is the next closest thing.

I prefer to hire curvy models for my work (http://www.pnart.com). In the entertainment world my idea of hotness is more like Beyonce or Kim Kardashian. My favorite rap song is “Baby Got Back”

Thisn whole notion of “real women” is so stupid to me. From the super skinny to the super fat it’s all real. I know plenty of normal girls that eat and could give Alba a run for her money fitness wise. I think it’s important for women to be physically strong. Not skinny, not fat, but fit. Able to run, jump, kick, use their bodies the way they were intended.

So lets switch this up and say, “whats up with men that eat so much they have guts?” We women dont like that we want you to look like a pro soccer stud i.e. David Beckham. lady bizness, your rationality on this subject should aid you in starting and keeping to a diet. but no one said it wouldn’t require any effort or self-discipline. you cannot have it both ways. as a believer in the self-evident wisdom of the free marketplace, you of all people should understand this. if you love your husband and don’t want to continue shitting all over his desires then you will push away from the snacky cakes and get up off the couch. if you choose to stuff your face then at least be aware of the consequences.

Joe T. attempts to blame heartless capitalism for America’s problem with weight, but I would argue that America’s weight problem is based in our undying love for things that are cheap and easy. I, for instance, will go for 8 hours without eating if I’m at home and there is no pre-prepared food around. I will not cook anything more complicated than a can of soup or bag of microwave popcorn. If I eat a meal it’s because my husband has cooked or purchased one. Of course thanks to this awful diet I’m about 50 lbs overweight. I’m not confused as to how I went from being a 5’6″ 125 lb athlete to a 175 lb lardass. It’s called laziness. I have better things to do with my time than go to the gym, like eat and watch TV. If Joe T. and the rest of you guys who bemoan the weght-gain in American women can come up with a way to make food taste worse and exercise to require no effort then you’ll see a reversal. Otherwise, just prepare yourselves for the impending fattening of Europe and all their currently hot ladies.
