Read "On Writing" by Stephen King, if you haven't already. Great book about the writing process.

Wait a minute, you "feel a new chapter on my life coming up so I need to close this one out with something written"??? Care to explain a bit?

My suggestion is to write in the style of Robert Greene, using a large number of real-life examples to illustrate your points.

If it doesn't sale or worse yet get picked up at all you always release it online as a serial to build a fan base. But what do I know I've never written a book.

Good luck!

I have a dear friend and lover who worked on his book for ten years and then realized in horror that he no longer even BELIEVED in what he believed in ten years prior. He threw the entire manuscript in the fire and started over . . . on a work of fiction this time. Ten years later and he's still working on it.

Sometimes you just need to play the wrap-it-up song.

Advice from a (published) writer: Take your delusional early twentysomething rantings (from when you knew NADA about real flesh-and-blood women), label them as such and turn it into a chapter. A really, really funny one, like "stupid shit I did to get laid." Tell horror stories about your worst dates; people just eat that up.

Then, get real. BTW a true sign of wisdom is the ability to breakitdown concisely. Meaning, the end product should actually be really, really SHORT!

A way to psych yourself: Imagine you're working on a magazine article instead of a book. Just feeeeeeel the pressure evaporate. AHHHHH.

Also, unless you self-publish, some snot-nosed editor working his first real job out of college is going to destroy all your finely tuned prose anyway, so don't even bother stressing about the right word, phrase, or punctuation. Stick with stream-of-consciousness and then clean it up later. The finished product will be unrecognizable from your final draft so just chill.

don't worry about the book selling. popular is not necessarily quality, and quality is not always popular.

as for the book, I know it will be good.
