Last month, I drove a few hours south to Lynchburg, Virginia to attend a talk titled “Truth Before Peace: The Message of Fr. George Calciu to Today’s Youth.” It was given by Father Theodore Stanway, a monk of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York, the same ROCOR monastery that I was baptized in.

Father Theodore’s talk shares how to maintain the Orthodox faith in an increasingly materialistic and secular society by highlighting the teachings of Romanian priest Fr. George Calciu, a powerful confessor of Orthodoxy during Romanian communism.

Here is the video recording of the talk:

These two books help supplement Father Theodore’s speech:

We are treading down a road already traveled by saints who had faith stronger than ours, so it would be wise for us to listen to what they have to say.

Thanks goes out to Pano Kostouros for hosting the video. You can view his Orthodox channel here.

I have tried a a couple times to leave a comment on the youtube channel but for some reason it rejects it. Perhaps as I have included a link?

This is mostly a message for Pano, if he is on the forum. Firstly, thanks for the upload, superb talk.

I wanted to have this talk in written form so I could read through it again. I took the auto-generated transcript out and realised it needed a few changes. I saved both the talk in .pdf form as well as the amended subtitle track in .docx. If interested here is a link to the files: https://we.tl/t-IqPv0DCI1Z . (this link may be what prevented the comment on youtube?)

I know it would take a while to change the subtitle track, however if you find the time, I think it would be helpful for those that struggle to understand the thick Scottish accent.

Youtube deletes my comments if I include a link. The website simply doesn't allow for links.

From SoundView Media Partners on their DVD, “Beyond Torture, the Gulag of Pitesti, Romania”:

“From 1949-52 a horrific experiment was carried out by the Stalinist regime in Romania, as students, priests, intellectuals, and peasants were rounded up and sent to a gulag in the city of Pitesti in order to be brainwashed into embracing communism. In Alan Hartwick’s Beyond Torture three survivors (Nicu Ionita, Father Roman Braga, and Father George Calcui) recount the unrelenting physical and mental torture inflicted on them by their captors (and sometimes by fellow prisoners promised early release for their cooperation). Cut off from family and faith, the survivors say the Stalinists were intent on destroying their individual values — through a method called “unmasking” — in order to create a communist personality. In addition to the debilitating physical torture (which included constant beatings, being forced to sleep in fixed positions, and various humiliating activities), a barrage of mental torture was employed, as members of the Orthodox faith were forced to substitute profanities for holy words while reciting the liturgy, and use human feces as hosts for Holy Communion. The terrible memories of the former prisoners are here augmented by the work of Romanian artist Sorin Feraru, who paints gaunt, hollow-eyed figures being subjected to horrors unimaginable to most of us. Displaying remarkable grace here, the survivors say they have forgiven their tormentors. Highly recommended.”

There are similarities I could discuss between the tyranny of communism and our own era’s inverted tyranny of plutocratic capitalism. In both cases the ruling authorities give a code of made-up virtues to be enforced through every government spokesman and outlet of the press, and these failing, enforced through imprisonment and/or indoctrination.

However, one key difference between the Soviet communists of the 1950’s and the inverted tyrannical plutocrats of our era: in ours, an overwhelming portion of the plutocrats are Jewish, certainly those with the most influence over campaigns and think-tanks—the ones responsible for funding those campaigns and think-tanks; similarly, on every socio-economic rung there are Jews defending this menagerie.

In Father Calciu’s era they were atheists; in this one they are Jews and Shabbes goy Zionists. Similarly, in Calciu’s era they were economic communists; in ours, the only lingering traits of communism are the cultural-marxist aspects (and these were not enforced by Soviet communists, as even they recognized such behaviors as unnatural and debased).

You’re welcome. I would have liked to have met Fr. George Calciu, but he died in 2006, and until recently my life was too consternated for me to have dignified discussions on spiritual matters. Nonetheless, he was a beacon of hope and knowledge.

Roosh, I view you as a reformed sinned who has returned to God. You have plenty to say about rejecting the temptations of the flesh. However, one of your consistent themes is assigning blame to Zionists and Jews. You see them as linchpins in the New World Order, the evil empire. I can name several evil and powerful Jews--so what. I see a huge blind spot in your worldview. I have never seen any bashing of Islam or Muslims. I will not assign this to your Turkish background, though I see this as a possibility. I believe you may have grown up with lessons making the Jews a convenient bogeyman. Now that you see yourself as closer to God than your love them and leave them phase, will you cut out your Jew-bashing. If nothing else, it doesn't add to your effectiveness as a messenger of sanity and peace.

Who let the Muslims through the door? Who weakened the nations to permit Muslim immigration? Which ethnoreligious group talks about mixing the nations together so they may rule over them? Which group is massively overrepresented among billionaires, politicians, Hollywood and Wall Street executives, but massively underrepresented in the American armed forces? Which group mocks our Lord Jesus Christ at every opportunity and has enshrined that He is boiling in feces in one of their religious texts?

Blaming Muslims is like blaming the snake in your house for biting you, when who you should be blaming is the person or group who let it in, and is holding the door open for more snakes to come in while calling you Ophidiophobic and charging you money for door holding services.

I don't obsess over it and I try to judge people as individuals, but there are some trends one cannot ignore.

The JEW lobby.

A more subtle answer, that I was waiting for, would have been, Who's promoting the LGBT culture in its global media (though not in Israel, mind you) ?

Edit:

Please give notice to eventual readers, that the text you're quoting, true or false, is an abomination that hurts eyes and soul. It should be read while holding a cross or blessed water, as the images it conjures up, are totally disgusting and unholy.

How many individuals raised Christian believe Jews were not the cause of death?

Which group mocks our Lord Jesus Christ at every opportunity and has enshrined that He is boiling in feces in one of their religious texts?

Did not realise it was worse in the actual text. Please someone correct if the following source is in error:

The rabbis’ ignominious “Torah” (Torah SheBeal Peh) teaches that Jesus was conceived adulterously in niddah (menstrual filth) by a Roman soldier named Pandera (Kallah 51a) of a whore (Sanhedrin 106a), so He is a mamzer (bastard) and that He is now in Hell boiling in feces and, in some editions of the Talmud, semen because he is accused of sexual perversion. (Gittin 57a).

The rabbis boast of responsibility for Jesus' Crucifixion, “hanged,” even though the Romans were “inclined toward acquittal” of Jesus (Sanhedrin 43a); therefore Jewish denial and blame-shifting to the Romans is a lie. The infamous Toledoth Yeschu, Maimonides’ Hilkoth Akun V, 3 and Letter to Yemen), and the 1905 Jewish Encyclopedia (page 170), all boast of Jewish responsibility for Christ’s death. The Talmud notes that Jesus deserved four more deaths. The rabbis argue that Jesus should have been strangled while immersed in dung (Sanhedrin 52a). The rabbis insist that Jesus Himself was an idolater (Sanhedrin 43a, 107b) who worshipped a brick (Sanhedrin 67a, 107b), so Jesus was justly executed.

If this is true this is awful. Do most Christians not know of this view of our Lord and Saviour written in this “religious” text?

I hope it's not true, but in any case the simple fact of reading what you're quoting above, is atrocious, for a Christian. Please give notice to eventual readers, that the text you're quoting, true or false, is an abomination that hurts eyes and soul. It should be read while holding a cross or blessed water, as the images it conjures up, are totally disgusting and unholy.

Anyway, about the responsibility, I've never agreed with forgiving the Roman authorities. Whatever the pressure, the Roman government should have resisted. Weakness is sometimes criminal, moreso when Poncius' weakness led to such a crime.

If anything Roosh is extremely cautious and reluctant to mention Jews these days.

I get it though a psychological tactic Jews use is to always apply pressure and instill fear on people that the anti Semitism brigade is always watching and their daggers are at the ready.

It must always be made guilt laden, troublesome and difficult for the goyim to name the Jew.

A little backdrop to both of these book suggestions which I also highly recommend is this podcast which explains a bit of the diabolical experiments at pritesti prison that took place on legionaries and clergymen. This podcast in tandem with the books is suggested. Warning: the details are graphic and disturbing you might want to be near a gym or exercise equipment to blow off steam.

These are today known as the Pitesti experiments, and the purpose was to associate Christianity, the family and nation with horrible tortures involving sexual pain, fecal obsession (which can be found in the Talmud), humiliation and constant beatings.

As most individuals on this forum know the fecal obsession and sexual pain humiliation is a common Satanic / Luciferian ritual behaviour, and can be found in historical documentation.

We are treading down a road already traveled by saints who had faith stronger than ours, so it would be wise for us to listen to what they have to say.

In the words of Abba Ischyrion in conversation with other holy Fathers, about making predictions about the last generation:

They said "What have we ourselves done?"
One of them, the great Abba Ischyrion replied, "We ourselves have fulfilled the commandments of God."
The others replied, 'And those who come after us, what will they do?'
He said, 'They will struggle to achieve half our works.'
They said, 'And to those who come after them, what will happen?'
He said, 'the men of that generation will not accomplish any works at all and temptation will come upon them; and those who will be approved in that day will be greater than either us or our fathers.'

Now, seeing how until evil unseen until in this day and age, flourishes in this world, it makes it actually easier to believe that the one who warned about the "princes and powers of this world" was right all along. Or microchips in the hand... I am glad I read the new testament well as a teenager. So some will be baffled by evil but some others will start looking for good as a reaction. I am not ready yet, but others will be, I think.
