Thank you for sharing your experiences of being shamed and harassed by the ignorant, self-righteous mask wearing folk you have encountered. Just simply staying quiet in response to the vitriol is a great tip. I will remember that when I feel my blood reaching its boiling point the next time I dare show my entire face in public and am again viciously verbally confronted by another beady-eyed, muzzled freak. Also, it is not an actual law to wear a “mask” (and at least in RI, the governor’s executive order specifically states you do not need to wear one if it poses a danger to your health, or if you can reasonably stay 6 feet away from someone – the other popular “mandate” which makes no sense). Basically, what people everywhere need to be aware of is that wearing a mask has NOT been written into actual LAW. And never will be.

Amy: There is a law that allows the Governors of states to issue Executive Orders. While an EO is not an actual Law, they have to full force of a law.

So while you are technically correct, the actual power of an EO is the same as law and is treated as if it is one.

Note: I am not specifically referring to R.I.

However, the E.O of R.I. language does not say “ danger to your health”, it says ” ... unless doing so would damage the person’s health.”

Regarding the 6 feet you mention, that is for outdoors only, which by your omitting implies everywhere:

It’s not ”  reasonably stay 6 feet away from someone” as you say but rather says “Face coverings are not required for people who can easily, continuously, and measurably maintain at least six (6) feet of distance.” There is a big difference between what you write and the actual E.O. words.

You may read the actual E.O. at https://governor.ri.gov/documents/orders/Executive-Order-20-60.pdf
